Something Wicked This Way Comes

Halloween 2026

Meet the Author

Sofia Hard, Statted Out

Smut Sorcerer

Alignment: Chaotic Filthy Level: 6 Background: Ex-Strip Club Manager | Reformed Japan Party-Girl
STR 8

Cannot carry own groceries, unless it’s bottles of wine. Can absolutely carry an 80k-word plot on spite alone.

DEX 16

Typing speed when a spicy scene finally clicks.

CON 4

Runs entirely on coffee, wine & cheese, and the delusion that today is a “light edit” day.

INT 14

Knows an alarming amount of BDSM terminology. Purely for research.

WIS 2

Knows better. Does it anyway. Also forgot why she walked into this room.

CHA 18

Has convinced hundreds of people a fictional man is worth losing sleep over. Can talk for 45 minutes about a niche trope as long as you don’t make eye contact.

HP (Deadline Stress Meter) 13 / 100
AC 10

Regenerates slowly, only with wine. No defense whatsoever against a good identity-porn trope.

Currently grinding Book 6 of Seven Rules to Ruin a Man, plus this year’s Halloween novella trilogy. Send wine.

True Things

Confessions

“The comfort writing blankie isn’t optional. It’s a medical necessity. Fight me.”
“I write under another name too — one I will take to my grave, or at least until wine o’clock.”
“I once used my own ex as a character description. He does not know. If you’re reading this, hi Liam #2, surprise.”
“I once managed a strip club. I have Stories. I am legally and emotionally unequipped to tell most of them here.”
“I have a dedicated playlist for every mood: ‘Writing Villains,’ ‘Writing Victims,’ ‘Writing People Who Deserve Both,’ and ‘Surprise Goblincore!'”
“Once stayed up all night researching gothic literature’s influence on the spiritualist movement in WWI-era England. Not for a book. At least not yet…”

Green Flags / Red Flags

🟢 Green Flags

  • Remembers random dates, weird facts and obscure moments in history
  • Will absolutely fact-check her own smut (and action scenes) for anatomical accuracy — your pleasure is her peer-reviewed research
  • Hyperfocus means deadlines actually get met, usually in a wine-fueled miracle session
  • Somehow balances work, university study, writing, and personal time without monthly breakdowns. She has them bi-monthly (jks)
  • Has kept a plant alive for over a year. It’s thriving. She’s proud.

🚩 Red Flags

  • Has, unprompted, explained the difference between a Dom and a “guy who just thinks he’s in charge,” at a bar
  • Will talk about a fictional man’s forearms and collarbones for longer than is socially acceptable
  • Considers anytime “a completely normal time to be plotting a murder… for the subplot”
  • Deals with near-crippling imposter syndrome daily
  • Can play a single song on repeat for HOURS and do it for days straight
  • Can be jealous as fuck
  • Once crossed an international border in the back of a white panel van without showing her passport
  • If an app or website doesn’t have dark mode, it shall not be used
  • Will start explaining a plot hole, stop, stare into the middle distance, and say “actually, never mind, I fixed it in my head”
  • Forgets she’s meant to promote her books — and post on social media, and maintain a blog, and make reels — while still somehow writing more books

In the interest of full transparency: I struggled to make that green list as long as the red one. Make of that what you will. I did warn you I was chaotic filthy.

A Small Manifesto

Sofia’s Rules

  1. Write Without Apology. If it’s too much, it’s probably just enough.
  2. Research Without Shame. The search history is a badge of honor.
  3. Read Without Guilt. You’re allowed to like the filthy books. All of them.
  4. Focus Without Force. If the brain says “no, we’re learning to code a website from scratch instead,” then we’re coding a website from scratch. The book will wait.
